P&ID users can spend a lot of time setting up their tool palettes with custom symbols, what if they then need to be shared with other users?
The first thing to do is to setup the P&ID palettes as needed on one machine.
Next, find the path where the palettes are stored in the OPTIONS command, Files tab (default below):
C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Autodesk AutoCAD Plant 3D 20**\R2**\enu\Support\ToolPalette
Using Windows Explorer, copy this entire folder to the chosen network location.
Finally in Plant 3D OPTIONS command, point the path to the new network location.
NOTE: An extra step may be needed if the blocks are not already present in the project. This is because the palettes only contain the instruction to place the block, not the block itself, which are stored in the classes in Project Setup.
For newer versions of Plant 3D you can use Project Compare to transfer these across. The older method is to directly open the projSymbolStyle.dwg files and use Design Center to copy these across.
