In AutoCAD Electrical, the Icon menu information is stored in a .DAT file, which can be specified for each project depending on the standard in use. In the example below, the IEC60617 Demo project uses the ACE_IEC-60617_MENU.DAT file. Other .DAT files are installed and their default location is in the Support folder (default support path is C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\AutoCAD Electrical 20xx\R2x.x\enu\Support ). This applies to both the schematic and panel Icon menu files.

At times it may be needed to move some resources to a different folder, either to a shared drive or just a different location outside the default installation folders. However, if moving the Icon Menu (.DAT) files to a different folder, users may notice the symbol icons go missing:

This is because the image information is not stored in the .DAT file itself, but in the s2.dll file (found in the same Support directory). If this file is copied to the new location, the Icon Menu should display as expected – a restart of AutoCAD Electrical may be needed.
