Recently whilst training, some of my delegates had an issue where they were unable to access the steel component tools, connections, plates, and bolts. The problem was that the steel connections tab wasn’t displayed on the ribbon list.
Thinking that the tab was just turned off, they accessed User interface settings within the Options menu, however the user interface customised options were greyed out and nothing could be changed.
This problem is caused by either a corrupted or incomplete install of the Revit software.
However, by going to the Control Panel> Programs and Features and selecting the Repair or Reinstall Option, then choose Repair.
This option will replace all the system registry entries and restores Revit to its default state. Once complete, Revit should display the missing tabs as per the image at the top.
