Revit’s home page provides a useful history of recently accessed projects and families. This makes it easier for users to access files worked on in the recent past.

However, over time the page can get cluttered and there might be a need to clean up the Home page appearance without altering or moving the referred files. This can be done editing the Revit.ini file.
NB. Before doing this, it is advisable to make a backup copy in case anything goes wrong and if in doubt talk to your Revit expert before proceeding.
The ini file is located under the users roaming profile folder.
Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit 20xx
Search for the Recent Files List string and remove the required file entries, marked in red. Do not change or remove anything else!
Once complete save the Revit.ini file and open Revit. The home page should display as a ‘clean version’ looking like a fresh install.
