Equalise Dimensions

Equality Constraints in Revit are an easy way to get automaticequal spacing between elements of any kind.

In this example the align dimension tool is used to create a dimension string for five walls with the Prefer Centre of core option selected.

To establish an equality constraint from the dimension string we need to click the little equality (EQ) icon (you may have to zoom-in to see it). The walls are now equally spaced along the corridor and the four offices have an equal floor area. Click the EQ icon again and you will see that all the dimensions are the same. If you choose to remove the dimension string you will get an option to leave the equalise constraint intact.

Note that when you click the EQ icon it no longer has a slash through it.
