I frequently get asked this question by Revit users about how to change the units used on a level marker height reference, but keep the main length unit type as the default millimetre setting in the project.

It is possible to do this. All that is required is to edit the level marker symbol and change the level reference to override the project setting and use an alternate unit type such as metres.

Locate the family within the project browser, edit it and within the annotation family select the appropriate label and override the property as highlighted. To override the property, untick ‘use project settings’, select metres and an appropriate precision. If necessary select a unit symbol suffix for clarity.

Once updated, reload the family into the project or template and check that that the label shows the information in the desired format.
