    Question:

In QGIS is it possible to change the zoom factor for the Zooming tools?

    Answer:

By default, when you use the Zoom In tool, the map scale will change by 200%. This means if the current map scale was 1:10,000 and you click to zoom in, the map scale will change to 1:5,000.

However, if you wish to change the Zoom Factor choose Settings > Options > on the Map Tools Tab > and the Zooming section you can change the Zoom Factor from the default 200%.

In this example, we will change the Zoom Factor to a smaller number e.g. 150%.

Once Applied, if you now use the Zoom In tool, you will notice that the map now zooms in using smaller intervals – which is very useful if you only want to zoom small increments at a time.
