Revit 2021: Pipe Units and Symbols

When it comes to annotation of pipework, different companies or people have different standards or preferred ways of displaying the text. Some may want to show both units and a symbol for the pipe, not show either, or only show one of these in certain places. There are a few settings you can play with, or use a combination of these, to get what you want.

First is the Project Units, this will affect all piping:

The Diameter symbol is controlled in the Mechanical Settings, this again will affect the entire project:

Finally so that only a tag is affected, diameter has to be added as a label, so that its format can be changed to change the symbol. A suffix can also be added here:​
