Autodesk Inventor - Default Templates

When creating a new file in Inventor, the template to use can be selected either from File -> New or via the Advanced Templates panel.

If creating a new file using the New file dropdown (1) or Basic Template panel (2), Inventor will always use the Standard.extension template (provided it exists in your project defined Templates folder).

For drawing, the template used will be either Standard.idw or Standard.dwg, depending on the selection under Tools-> Application Options -> Drawing tab -> Default drawing file type :

As an example, I have renamed my “Standard.dwg” to “Old-Standard.dwg” and the “Cadline-A2.dwg” to “Standard.dwg” . Creating a new drawing using the quick access options is now loading my custom template :
