Revit 2021: Schedule Background Mask

What is the best way to mask behind a schedule in Revit? Regions can only be applied in the view and not the sheet, so a filled or masking region would not work very well having to move the schedule and mask independently. Instead think about trying one of the methods below:

If you have 2021, you can apply striping to a schedule via the "Appearance" of a schedule:

However, if you have an older version you can pick a Cell in the schedule and go to Shading. If you do not want a colour, you can choose a colour very close to white such as 254,255,255:
