Resetting the Revit Interface

Question:

How do I reset the Revit ribbon menu and/or the Quick Access toolbar?

Answer:

If you need to reset the ribbon to restore default settings, you can delete the UIState.dat file which holds Revit's interface settings.

UIState.dat is located within the following folder:

%APPDATA%\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit 20??\<language>

or for Revit LT,

%APPDATA%\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit LT 20??\<language>
