Question:
Is it possible to Copy Text from a MapThat Information Bubble?
Answer:
Yes, Bubbles in MapThat can be Moved to another location and you can also Copy Text from within the Bubble content.
If the Bubble is a SIMPLE Bubble, where no HTML is used to construct the bubble, then a User can simply left click on the bubble in a location where there is no text….
… and drag the bubble to Move it to another location.
If the User wishes to Copy the text, they can simply left click, hold and drag over the bubble text and press Ctrl C to copy the text. This can be useful, as you may wish to copy the details of a Planning Application Number to find that within your Planning Portal.
If the Bubble is an HTML Bubble, where HTML is used to construct the bubble, then again a User can simply left click on the bubble in a location where there is no text…..
… and drag the bubble to Move it to another location.
However before you can Copy Text from an HTML Bubble you will need to contact your MapThat Administrator who will need to update the HTML used within the Bubble.
The text needed to be added to the Bubble HTML content is - class="bubble-content" – as shown in this example below:
So, to update the Bubble for the Liverpool Leisure Centres we will add the value - class="bubble-content" – into the correct location in the Bubble. Here between the lines
<table rules=”cols …….
…and
…..style=”border:……
Having copied this change into the Bubble record, when you now open MapThat, the User will be able to left click, drag the mouse over text and press Ctrl C to copy the required text from the Leisure Centres Bubble.
