Question:

I am struggling with the latest version of PGAdmin,.. is there any other database GUI that I can use?

Answer:

Why not try DBeaver!https://dbeaver.io/

It’s a free multi-platform database tool for developers, SQL programmers, database administrators and analysts. Supporting all popular databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite, Oracle etc…

I have just started to use DBeaver in place of PGAdmin as the new browser version of PGAdmin was less stable than before.

So far I have successfully managed to connect to my PostGIS Instance:

Viewed the Schemas and Tables in my PostGIS Database.

Viewed the records in a PostGIS table.

Ran a simple Query.

And viewed the query results in both an Attribute window.

And in a Spatial Viewer!

The Spatial Viewer alone has meant that I have decided to use DBeaver as my DB Manager for all things PostGIS for the coming months.

Watch this space for further FAQs and Blogs as I start to see how DBeaver can help me to manage my spatial datasets.
