Vault - Restore a previous file version

Sometimes you may need to revert to a previous version of a file.

This can be done easily as described in the following guide:

1. Making sure there is no local copy of the file. Use the Vault Client to check it out.

In this example, the assembly has 2 versions and I want to revert to the first one.

2. Get a local copy of the desired file version.

3. Open the working folder which now has the old version of the file – notice the “local copy is out of date” icon is displayed next to the file name.

4. Open the local copy.

5. Check the file in via the Vault add-in of the CAD application (Inventor in this case).

Now the latest version of the file is 3, identical to version 1.
