Once the “Fillet” command has been initiated, generally the first thing that should be done is to set the size of the “Fillet”.

To set the “Radius” value or “Fillet” size, either type in “R” and press enter, select “Radius” from the command line, as shown in Figure 1.

Or right mouse click and from the displayed menu select “Radius” as shown in Figure 1.

Type in the numerical value required and press “Enter”. The “Fillet Radius” is now set, this will be the default and will remain set until changed.

Changing the “Radius” value will not affect any previously created “Fillets”.

Setting the “Radius” value to zero will result in joining the two selected lines to a sharp corner since there is no radius value being used.

This can be very helpful when joining lines, as shown in Figure 3.

Drawing Production Hint: - To save time setting the value to zero, holding down the “Shift” key will temporary set the “Radius” value to zero, once released the value returns to its previous setting.

Note: - If a “No Entry” Icon is displayed this means there is no “Fillet” with the specified “Radius” between the two selected objects, as shown in Figure 4.
