Question:
Using the new MapThat Admin Forms (version 1.53 onwards) the login page doesn’t seem to render correctly when I use Internet Explorer. It seems that some of the logos are missing from the login screen and when I enter my Admin login it won’t login. Using the same URL in Chrome the Admin Login page works fine. What is the cause of this issue for Internet Explorer?
Answer:
The MapThat Admin Forms are compatible with Internet Explorer version 11 onwards. It could be possible that the Server settings for the MapThat Admin Forms are forcing the application to open in an older version of Internet Explorer.
To resolve this issue, access the server and open Internet Information Services (IIS). Select the MapThat Admin Forms Application from the left panel (Connections) and then in the centre under IIS double click and choose HTTP Response Headers.
The following page will open listing all the current HTTP Response Headers.
If you don’t already have it you may need to add in another setting. From the right panel (Actions) choose Add and create a new key - X-UA-Compatible pointing to "IE=edge".
Name = X-UA-Compatible
Value = IE=edge
The next time that you access the MapThat Admin Forms URL, the Application will force it to open within Internet Explorer ‘Edge’ mode, which will be the latest version. You should now see that the Admin Forms login page renders correctly with no missing logos.
And you can now successfully login.
