Civil 3D 2020 - Not working after Microsoft update

There has been a recent Microsoft update that is causing Civil 3D 2020 to stop working and inform users there is a problem with their licensing.

Do not panic as there is likely no issue with your licensing and there could be a simple solution.

  1. Navigate to your computers Task Manager and go to the Services tab.
  2. Under the description column you should see ‘Autodesk Desktop Licensing Service’.
  3. If the status column does not say ‘Running’ right click the status and choose ‘Start’ from the menu.

After the license service has started, Civil 3D will run as expected.
