Recently I wrote a post explaining how users could reposition objects accurately by typing in both absolute and relative coordinates and angles. An alternative approach is to use the Align objects command instead.
In the image above a tree object needs to be repositioned correctly to a planter. This can easily be achieved by selecting the tree, click on the Align command and choose the appropriate positioning and alignment options highlighted in red. Pivot to Pivot usually provides the best results, along with a Z axis orientation correction.
Should further adjustment be required, then relative offsets can be applied by the move object transform dialogue. This process is detailed in a previous blog here:
