A few months ago I blogged about a useful utility that made the management of families within Revit a lot easier.
The details can be found here: https://www.cadlinecommunity.co.uk/hc/en-us/articles/360001139078-Revit-2019-Improved-Transfer-Project-Standards
Since writing that original post, Revit 2020 has been released and whilst there are some nice features, including PDF import, egress paths and elliptical walls, the whole family management interface hass remained the same as previous versions of software. This is a shame because due to the limitations highlighted in my previous post, some simple tasks are still a bit tedious. Revit would greatly benefit from an interface like AutoCAD’s Designcentre to manage object styles, settings and families. The Transfer Projects Standards command is well overdue for an overhaul, Revit 2021 perhaps!
The new version of Transfer Single has been recently released and is now charged at $10 and includes support for Revit versions 2018 through to 2020. However, it is still a useful plug-in and will over time save you effort and cost managing families over the standard set of Revit tools.
The link to the new plug-in can be found here: https://apps.autodesk.com/RVT/en/Detail/Index?id=8481526687890452659&appLang=en&os=Win64
