A component within AutoCAD Electrical normally has one footprint. Even an assembly of parts will only have a footprint that is for the assembly. However optional accessories are treated differently meaning that a component can have several footprints e.g. contactor and side mounted auxiliary block. In a panel layout, you may want to show a footprint for the different parts that make up the component.

In the following example, a disconnector has been assigned:

An optional accessory has been assigned by selecting acade-components-two-footprints-3.png

When you place your footprints down in the layout, ensure you tick acade-components-two-footprints-6.png as shown:

Your sub-components will now be available for placement.
