Question:

What is causing the Service Unavailable – HTTP Error 503 – message when I open MapThat and try to view icons?

Answer:

This error message could be related to the Application Pool that the MapThat Instance is using.

For example, if MapThat opens and successfully loads a Project, but the ICONS do not display:

And if you try to simply render one Icon in a browser window using the URL path to the icon on the server, and you also see the same message:

This could mean that the Application Pool for MapThat has stopped. So open IIS on the server and restart the Application Pool.

The Icon will now display in the browser window:

And the Icons and Images will now also render in MapThat.
