QGIS – How do you Stop Labels Overlapping the Edge of the Map

Question:

How can you stop labels overlapping the edge of the map in QGIS?

Answer:

To ensure that your labels do not overlap the edge of the map, you can use the Automated Placement Settings in the Label Properties for your layer.

In the Layer Properties choose the Label Tab > and then press the Automated Placement Settings button.

In the Automated Placement Engine, simply untick the Show Partial Labels tick box.

Once Applied the Labels will update and automatically move so that they now don’t overlap the map edge.
