Accessing Existing Family Content

“Element” content is in most cases accessed via the “Type Selector” in the “Properties” pallet as shown in Figure 1.

If the content has already been loaded into the project or is part of the start-up template file, then as an alternative the “Element” content may be accessed from the “Project Browser”.

To access content from the “Project Browser” expand the “Families” category, expand the “Element” type, then drag the required “Family” into the project, as shown in Figure 2.

By dragging the “Element” into the Project, the related commands are automatically activated, for example dragging a “Wall” into the “Project” activates the “Modify | Place Wall” tools.
