The addition of new features and innovation are part-and-parcel of the annual release of Autodesk products, however the Collaboration tool added to Vault Professional 2019 is nothing short of a `Game-Changer’. This new technology uses Autodesk Desktop Connector to provide user-controlled syncing of in-house Vault data to-and-from Autodesk Cloud accounts that include Fusion Team and BIM 360 Docs. This new technology provides THE perfect solution to share and manage selective in-house data stored in Vault to wider teams of users, suppliers and contractors in both manufacturing and construction disciplines. Access from mobile devices for both Fusion Team and BIM 360 Docs hubs are available via the BIM 360 Team app from Google Play Store. Read on for an overview of the Collaboration features!
Vault Setup
The new Collaboration tab for the Administration Vault Settings allows infinite multiple mapping possibilities for projects and products alike. For each mapping set, multiple Vault folders can map to either Fusion Team or BIM 360 Docs projects and folder locations.
Choices include selective upload, download or bi-directional options, with additional options to control manual / automatic sync, frequency and all Vault-stored metadata criteria such as file extension and release state.
