Many new features were added to BIM360 over the last month. With Document Management there has been a significant update to the next gen mobile applications as Autodesk work towards achieving parity and then surpassing the functionality of the classic BIM360 Docs app for IOS. This will be a unified application for all BIM360 next gen modules not just Document Management.

Here’s what’s new for Document Management users.

    BIM 360 Android 2.4

    • New measurement tools – measure distance, angle (2D, 3D) and area (2D only).
    • Additional mark-up tools – highlighter, oval, polyline and polycloud.

In the Project Management module there have been a couple of updates. Until now, Autodesk has only allowed uploading photos or linking existing documents (from your Document Management folders) to an RFI. You can now upload any file format as an attachment to your RFI – PDFs, documents, spreadsheets, drawings, models, etc.

Autodesk has added spec section number and title auto-complete when searching for spec sections.

Finally, the latest BIM 360 Project Home update includes the following new features and improvements:

    • Dashboard Card Scopes – you can now switch the scope of data shown in each card on your project home.
    • Default project profile images – now shows a default project profile image if your project does not have a project image set up.
    • Health Dashboard – you can now check the health status of Project Home page from the Autodesk health dashboard.
