Your company creates various models and drawings which may be stored within the Vault infrastructure. However, you would like to allow restrictions for certain users or groups on certain files and folders, such as not being able to modify these, or hiding the content. These are called Permissions.

Each permission is assigned an Access. The below table (extracted from the Autodesk Vault Help guide) shows what each permission does with the assigned access.

To set these permissions, choose a file or a folder, right click on the file/folder> Detail > Security tab> tick Override (state-based or manual)> Add users or groups to access control List> add the users or groups to the Current Members field> set the required Permissions.

Please note that to change the permissions, you’ll need to be logged into Vault with an Administration role.
