MapThat – Area Search Updates

The DynamicMaps team at ARKANCE is pleased to announce that in the latest release of our webGIS – MapThat – we have now updated the Area Search tool!

The Area Search tool allows users to spatially query their map data, by creating buffers…

or by using an existing area to search against e.g. finding all the schools that fall inside a ward boundary:

The Areas Search tool has always used the spatial query type of INTERSECT to filter features…. but now the latest update provides users with a choice of spatial queries dependent on their requirements:

This now means that users can choose whichever spatial filter they need to perform their analysis!

For example, use the Overlap option to find Planning Apps that Overlap a Ward boundary.

Or use the Within option to find all the Planning Apps that fall completing within the selected Ward boundary!

The Area Search tool now allows your users to run even more accurate spatial queries, without the need to use complex desktop GIS software!
