In previous releases of Revit, to name a “Reference Plane”, select the “Reference Plane”, and add or edit the text in the “Name” section of the properties panel, the created text is then placed above the reference line and at the end or second creation point of the reference line.
A nice, but easily overlooked feature that’s been added to Revit 2017, as an alternative to the above method of naming the reference line, is to select the “Reference Line“ and click <Click to name>, and add the required text.
The required “Reference Line” name or “ID” now appears at both ends and below the “Reference line”.
