Revit 2016: Add an Entry Step to a Stair

There are lots of ways to edit and configure stairs in Revit, from components and sketches to railings.

However one of the most asked questions I get is how to add a Bullnose or a Curtail Entry Step.

So I thought I would put together a few… steps? (apologies, had to be done) on how to do this. 

The first thing to do is to make sure your Stair is a Sketch, if not simply Convert it:

Then Edit the Sketch, pull back the green boundary line to where the railing will stop:

Now here is the key part, use the Riser tool to sketch your step as needed:

Finish the Sketch and the Stair and this should give you your edited entry step:
