Issue:

You have drawing sheets with multiple hole tables present, and you don’t want to manually renumber the holes to distinguish between each hole table.

Solution:

Some simple iLogic? Why not indeed…..

Explanation:

Probably not much explanation required here. This forum article below illustrates the issue - anytime you have multiple hole tables in Inventor drawings, they will have duplicate hole numbering by default.

http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-general-discussion/inventor-12-multiple-hole-tables-in-drawing/td-p/3542542

If you want to avoid identically numbering different holes in different (or even the same) drawing view, you have to manually edit the numbers to suit. i.e. manually rename the holes in the first table to be 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 etc. and the holes in the second table to be 2.1, 2.2, 2.3. Time consuming eh?

So this iLogic rule will solve that by renaming exactly as described above (and in the picture at the top). It’ll work across multiple sheets also, just in case.

Happy days? Oh yes.
