Desktop Subscription customers get “Establish an internet connection to continue” error at login

Issue:

 

You have Autodesk 2015 or 2014 products on Desktop Subscription and you have not yet logged in to the product for the first time. When you attempt to log in you see the message, “Establish an Internet connection to continue.”  All other attempts to log in fail with the same message.

Desktop Subscription customers who were removed from a contract will also get this message when attempting to log in and won’t have an option to log in as a different user.
