Revit Architecture 2015 - Removing a Single Dimension from a Run of Dimensions

From my previous blog I covered a quick way to dimension a wall with opening, however sometimes a dimension in that run may no longer be required and needs removing or deleting

And since the dimensions have been created as one entity if a dimension is selected and deleted the complete run of dimensions is also deleted.

So to overcome this problem, hover over the dimension which requires deleting, highlighting the entire chain of dimensions.

Press the “Tab” key on the key board, so that only the dimension that is required to be deleted is highlighted.

Then select either the “Delete” tool in the “Modify” tab, press the “Delete” key on the keyboard, or type in “DE”.

This will delete the selected dimension only, but does break the dimension chain in to two separate dimension chains.

This method may also work with older versions of Revit.
