Civil 3D 2015 - Edit Gradings

This is a simple tip but could save you a lot of time!

I was working with a customer recently who had designed a multi-slope grading but on inspection he realised his initial slope was too deep and he’d defined his berm slope as +ve instead of –ve:

The natural reaction was to select the grading object in plan then select Grading Editor or Edit Grading from the Ribbon.

However this only allowed the final slope to be edited.

Solution

The best solution is to re-launch the Gradings Toolbar and select ‘Edit Grading’

Then select the required grading object from the drawing.

Change Relative Level

Change Berm Distance
