Autodesk Simulation CFD – Simple Aerodynamic Downforce

You may be aware - Cadline are currently running Simulation seminars. Thanks to all who attended this weeks’ Gatwick seminar. Next weeks is at the Autodesk UK headquarters in Farnborough, and we’re at the National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull on November 18th. Come and join us if you want to hear about the Autodesk solutions for Simulation. Free lunch and an excellent overview of the (extensive) product range – including the newest addition – Nastran In-CAD for Inventor and Solidworks users.

Just as a little teaser – here’s a simple video I put together showing some initial aerodynamics capabilities of the Autodesk Simulation CFD software. One of my favourite things about this software is the ability to see all types of results (colour plots, vector arrows, trace ribbons, iso surfaces) update as the solver is working. This is a potentially huge timesaver as the simulation can be stopped to correct the setup, without having to finish the analysis in order to check whether you set it up correctly. It’s like the difference between using a digital camera these days (instant results) vs going to Boots to get your photos developed, and finding you had your thumb over the lens the whole time (frustrating).

Anyway here’s the quick video, and get in contact with us if you’d like to come and see some live Nastran In-CAD and Autodesk Simulation product demonstrations and overview.
