Autodesk Inventor 2012 - Demote

This is a useful trick that can save a lot of time when restructuring your assemblies. If you realise you don’t have enough levels in your assembly, and you need some new sub-assemblies in there, you can create them on-the-fly, and still keep your constraints. Note: to reverse a demote operation, select your assembly and right click – component – promote.
