Following on from my blog on Transparency not working on Hatch I thought it a good idea to explain how to plot transparency.
How to Plot Transparent Objects in AutoCAD
It specifies that transparency levels applied to objects and layers are plotted.
You can simply control the plot transparency in the Plot/Page setup dialog box. Ticking the box checkbox on Plot Transparency specifies whether object transparency is plotted.
Transparency only applies to wireframe and hidden plots. Other visual styles, such as Realistic, Conceptual, or Shaded will always plot with transparency.
Switching on Plot Transparency only works in that drawing if you want it to work globally or be able to switch it on and off you can use thePLOTTRANSPARENCYOVERRIDE system variable.
Setting the PLOTTRANSPARENCYOVERRIDE system variable to 0 or 2 overrides the Plot Transparency option in the Page Setup or the Plot dialog boxes.
Note: Because this system variable can affect global plot performance, it is strongly advised that you leave the value set to 1 and manage plot transparency when plotting.
