Vault Task Scheduled Backup Not Running Server 2008 or Vista SP1

Recently working with a Vault installed on a Windows Server 2008 we came across an issue with trying to schedule a backup.

We often use a simple bat file to initiate a backup. Using as bat file allows you to do more than just run a backup, you can specify to cycle folders meaning that you have a set number of days back up and then it deletes any older ones.

When run manually in command prompt the bat file worked as expected. But when ran through Windows Task Scheduler at specific times nothing seemed to happen.

The issue stems from a known Microsoft issue that is specific to Windows Server 2008, a fix can be found from the following Microsoft support site.
