Problem:
You’ve installed a vertical version of AutoCAD (eg, AutoCAD Mechanical, Electrical, Plant 3D etc.), and every time you try to fire up plain AutoCAD, you end up with a different version to the one you expected. Or you cannot find AutoCAD on your machine after installing an Industry Collection or Suite.
Solution:
Simply create a new shortcut, pointing your PC to what is called Vanilla AutoCAD.
Use the URL below for the shortcut (include the "Quotation Marks"), the animation below shows the step by step instructions.
AutoCAD 2017
"C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2017\acad.exe" /ld "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2017\Acad.dbx" /p "<<VANILLA>>" /product "ACAD" /language "en-US"
AutoCAD 2016
"C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2016\acad.exe" /ld "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2016\Acad.dbx" /p "<<VANILLA>>" /product "ACAD" /language "en-US"
AutoCAD 2015
"C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2015\acad.exe" /ld "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2015\Acad.dbx" /p "<<VANILLA>>" /product "ACAD" /language "en-US"
