Quite often for new users of Revit, one of the main things that becomes immediately apparent, it that fact that hatching within walls, appears to be a little disjointed.

You will see that the external wall layers shows the hatch pattern rotating with the object as it is drawn, which doesn’t always show a pleasing result.

To get around this issue you can modify the hatch pattern. Go to Manage Tab>Additonal Settings>Fill Patterns.

Select the hatch pattern that needs to be modified, and click on Edit.

Change the orientation to “Orient To View”. Click OK. Click OK again.

Your hatching will now be aligned.
