This is a really useful sketching tip in Inventor – it would have saved me HOURS back in my skeletal modelling heyday. Don’t draw lines on top of existing sketch lines to force Inventor to recognize an area as a closed profile for extrusion – just place a sketch point on each intersection – this will make your sketches much more lightweight (those who try to cram too much into one Inventor sketch will testify that this is a very good thing) and will also make it much easier to diagnose any geometry mistakes downstream.
