I remember a while ago an article published on `Cracking the Vault’ that gave some useful tips on how to tweak DWF publishing options when using AutoCAD. The article referenced some controlling .dwg files that were used by AutoCAD when you checked files into Vault. However, the file locations quoted were relevant for XP operating systems and I found trying to find the equivalent files and locations were difficult if you were using Windows-7 (or Vista, … yeah what ever happened to Vista!?).
I recently discovered the following which works for me, so if you are struggling getting the correct dwf created when you check-in AutoCAD files, why not give this a go …
Step-1. Locate `setup.dwg’ from the following location (substitute the user profile name for the one you are using)
C\:Users\<profile name>\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2012 Vault Addin
Step-2. Open and edit setup.dwg in AutoCAD by adding a line on layer-0 from 0,0 to 100,0.
Step-3. Zoom extents in Model Space, then do the same from Layout 1 (Zoom Extents in active Viewport). Save the file.
