Revit 2014 - Quick Tip: Aligned Dimensions

Sometimes it’s easy to forget some of the simple features in Revit, for instance when trying to get a diagonal dimension to behave as expected.

So here’s a Revit quick tip to remember when you want to place an aligned dimension.

Before clicking to place the aligned dimension, make sure you have “Wall faces” set.

Now, hover the cursor over the point you want to pick, and use the TAB key to cycle through your selection until you have the correct point selected:

Then select the opposite point using the same process on the other side.

You now have your aligned angled dimension, as expected:
