Most AutoCAD users are familiar with using blocks in a day to day basis, however adding 1 simple parameter to a block can dramatically speed up workflow.
In the example below I have chosen to use the example of a power symbol block. This is a common block I have seen used in practice, but could be any wall based element, for example a door, anything that is repeatedly copied and rotated around a drawing.
With an existing block in a drawing, edit the block in the block editor, and add an “Alignment Parameter” to the block, specifying the rotation to keep aligned:
Then save the changes.
Now when the block is moved with the alignment grip, it automatically aligns to the element:
This even works with any angled elements:
