When Inventor is installed, the default HELP Option is to utilise help online and no local help available.
There are times however that you may not have access to the internet and hence no access to the HELP.
Also if you have a very slow internet connection, it’s no fun waiting for it when you are searching.
Good news is that you can now specify whether to access the Help ONLINE or from a LOCAL downloaded version from within Inventor.
If you navigate to the Autodesk Knowledge Network, you can download the complete Inventor help (Almost 400MB) –
Autodesk Inventor 2017
Autodesk Inventor 2016
Autodesk Inventor 2015
Check out the Help Install Instructions. It’s very easy and just a case of running an exe really.
NOTE: The Local Help will be available within Autodesk Inventor when you are working offline. When you are online, the help from the Autodesk Knowledge Network displays.
After you install the local help, you can switch between online/local Help any time.
Use the Help Options settings in the Inventor Application Options dialog box - Set the new Help Options in the General tab.
Works much faster for me!
Just be aware that the Help files may be updated from time to time.
