You are finding that AutoCAD is hanging on the splash screen with the status checking license.
The problem is likely related to a licensing issue. Re-set the license files as follows:
Delete the license files located here.
On Windows 7:
On Windows XP:
- C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\FLEXnet\adskflex_00691b00_tsf.data
- C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\FLEXnet\adskflex_00691b00_tsf.data.backup
This will rewrite the files at next start and request new authorisation.
