Maximise/Minimise Viewports - AutoCAD

Question

I often need to zoom and pan the drawing when working in a paper space Viewport but this inherently alters the View and Annotation Scales...I then have to attempt to reposition the objects in the viewport as they were beforehand and set the scale back again...is there an alternative to this, and an alternative to working back in Model space?

Answer

Use the Maximise Viewports icon...this is located to the left of the viewport scale icon on the status bar and allows you to zoom, pan and work wherever you like in the viewport...just like working in Model Space, however, when you click the icon for a second time, (which now reads Minimise Viewport), you will be returned to the exact same location and view scale that existed prior to clicking the icon to maximise the viewport.
