Fence Option - AutoCAD

Question

I want to trim in and around irregular or circular objects but the Crossing selection method is rectangular and rather limiting, is there an alternative option which is more flexible?

Answer

Remember to Right-mouse click whilst in the Trim command, the options provided all have their uses. The Fence option is used to provide a flexible cutting edge around curved or irregular objects.

AutoCAD 2015 introduces the Lasso selection which uses the same rules.
