No objects displayed when linking DWG file?

his issue occurs if you use xref files in your DWG files with the Type set to Overlay instead of Attach. this needs to be done within the AutoCAD based product. to do this type xref on the command line, within the xref manager palette, select the xref, and under the type change from overly to attach.
