Can I create a start-up template for 3DS Max instead of using the started new file?

Answer

Yes and No, Max doesn’t have the ability to select from a choice of standardised templates however it does rely on a startup file to run. This is called MAXSTART.MAX, if you edit this file these changes will be reflected when you either start MAX or do ‘Reset’ within MAX.
