Delete Referenced File Links in Inventor 2012

I recently came across an Inventor file which was failing to check into Vault due to a referenced file. I got below error.

The problem was this referenced file wasn’t even in the model, it no longer existed so it wasn’t like I could simply move it to my workspace location.

Removing the reference is easy though. Navigate to Tools > Options > Links.

This then allows you to break the link.

Remember the file no longer existed in my model. If the image was still being used you would also need to delete that. Keep an eye on your model browser for 3^rd party embedded documents.
